An exploration into the object as a reservoir of history, memory and sentiment.

This project is a very personal project. It serves as a dedication to my grandmother and other Afrikaans grandmothers and their heritage here in South Africa. I embarked on this project in an attempt to discover my own identity as an Afrikaans girl raised in South Africa. The project started as a documentary in the form of a photographic journal that developed into a moving image installation and film.
